Alexz Johnson is an independent Canadian singer/songwriter and Gemini-Award winning actress based in NYC. Her brand-new album "A Stranger Time" produced by Grammy-award winning Mark Howard (Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Emmylou Harris) just had it's international release on September 1st, followed by her single release "Right Now", released July 4th. Her soulful sound, passionate songwriting style, and acting success in TV and film (Instant Star, Final Destination, Blue on HULU) has helped Alexz garner a massive and loyal international fan following. After declining several major label offers that didn’t well suit her authentic music path, in 2012 Alexz took to the streets and raised over $67k through Kickstarter to fund the release of her Skipping Stone EP, as well as her sold out North American tour. In 2014, Alexz’s fan base once again showed overwhelming support and raised over $56k on PledgeMusic to produce her previously released album Let ‘Em Eat Cake produced by David Kahne (Lana Del Rey, Regina Spector, Sublime) and become a winner in the International Songwriting Competition for best music video, “Ruthless Love”. Alexz continues to work independently in both music and film, holding true to her sound and vision as an artist. She is currently on an east cost tour supporting her new album release and will be doing a residency at Hotel Cafe this October.
